Plans for a scuba diving medicine blog site.

This being the first entry of this blog - I don't have a definite idea of the direction it's going to take. Probably eclectic in nature - I'll tightly control the content to discussions about fitness to dive problems and diving accidents.

With the temperature outside hovering around freezing, who's interested in diving anyway. I'll tell you who - thousands of people sit around in this kind of weather and plan their next endeavour underwater and/or dream of the last nice reef dive in warm, azure, cystalline water on their favorite Caribbean island or Pacific atoll. Invariably, someone has a medical question as to whether or not they can undertake a dive without risking their lung, heart or other problem that has arisen between their dive trips.

So - off we go! Is it better to have your own dive equipment weighing 75-100 pounds or to lease your equipment from the dive operator? There are pros and cons for both sides and I'd like to hear from some of you about this.
